College?

3. GET INTO COLLEGE!
Northeastern University campus
All my life has been centered on one thing: college.  From my first day of school, my studying has been geared toward that ultimate goal.  I’ve been looking up colleges since middle school, and have long since decided I wanted to get a BA in Computer Graphics.  I’m a junior now, and my train to college has been put into high gear.  There’s a departure date stamped on Saipan, and that date is getting clearer and clearer.  I’m scared and excited to leave this little island for big city flair, and I already have a list of things I don’t want to part with.
1.)    SKI CLUB
a.       I’ve always wanted to go on ski trips with lots of people my age!  I love skiing, and I think college is my last shot to go on these trips.
b.      There’s no skiing on Saipan, and skiing anytime I want in the winter would be a dream come true.
2.)    IT HAS TO SNOW
a.       North, Northwest, New England, it doesn’t matter.  You might be hankering for fun in the sun, but I’m sick and tired of it.  I’m ready to trade my flip flops for boots!

3.)    MUST HAVE BA IN COMPUTER GRAPHICS
a.       Well, it’s the whole point of college.  If it doesn’t want the major I want, then screw it.
b.      I love drawing and computers, and the idea of working for companies like Pixar or Square Enix appeal to me the most.  The digital movie/game industry is booming and looking for talented artists.  I’m game.
4.)    SUBURBAN/URBAN
a.       I’m not going anywhere rural.  There’s just no way.  I’m ready to meet people, go to parties, and go somewhere where the nightlife is always new.
b.      City-living is what I fantasize about.  An urban college would be making that dream come true.
5.)    NOT THE ART INSTITUTES
a.       Any college advertised on TV (that’s not in your state) just can’t be that great.  Although the majors and possibilities appeal to me the most there, the reality is that it’s just not a serious college.  It’s like Cash4Gold.  Just doesn’t really happen how you want it to.
6.)    LOWER ACCEPTANCE RATE
a.       Not low like Harvard or Stanford.  I mean low like they don’t just take anyone.  I want to earn a quality education, not get into a college with kids who are there because the other colleges wouldn’t take them.
b.      It might just be ego.
If you have any college suggestions, feel free to suggest.  So far I’ve got down Northeastern University, Purdue University, Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), University of Pennsylvania (Penn State) and Ohio State University.  Until then, I think I’ll happily stay put on this island.  It’s weird.  The shorter amount of time I have left on it, the more I start to like it.
